En este lugar se podrá encontrar una completa y renovada exposición de la historia natural y cultural de la región. Regional museum of Antofagasta

Museo Geológico Profesor Humberto Fuenzalida Villegas

Se encuentra ubicada en el departamento de Geociencia de la universidad Católica del Norte. Posee una muestra de minerales de la región y del mundo, restos fósiles de un saurópodo, un herbívoro de cuello y cola largos, además tiene tres salas de Geología General, Paleontología y Mineralogía, donde se encuentran rocas, minerales y fósiles del Norte grande y Norte chico de Chile.

Geological museum Teacher Humberto Fuenzalida Villegas

It is located in the department of Geoscience of the Catholic university of the North. There possesses a sample of minerals of the region and of the world, fossil remains of a saurópodo, a herbivore of neck and tail lengths, in addition it has three rooms of General Geology, Paleontology and Mineralogy, where there are rocks, minerals and fossils of the big North and North boy of Chile.

Museo Augusto Capdeville Rojas

Es un museo independiente de la Municipalidad de Taltal, el cual reabrió sus puertas al público el 10 de septiembre del 2001, orientando una muestra a la divulgación del patrimonio Arqueológico e Histórico de Taltal.

El museo funciona en el edificio de la Ex Gobernación del Departamento de Taltal el que ha sido declarado Patrimonio Histórico de la comuna.

La creación de este museo nace a partir de la idea de darle una mayor importancia al Museo del Mar que se creo en el año 1879 en la cuidad. En el año 1997 el Museo tomo mayor importancia con la exposición de Historia y temas relacionados con la Aduanas, con esa idea se ocuparon las dependencias del Edificio Aduanero, en donde hoy funciona el museo.

Historical and Natural museum Mussels

The creation of this museum is born from the idea of giving a importance to the Museum of the Mar that I believe in the year 1879 in it take care. In the year 1997 the Museum major volume importance with the exhibition of History and topics related to the Customs, to this idea there dealt the dependences of the Customs Building, where today the museum works.

Museo Ferroviario Baquedano

Este museo esta inserto en una ex-maestranza de ferrocarriles, los que funcionaban a fines del siglo XIX, donde además se encuentra una Casa de Maquinas del ferrocarril que era del Estado del país con 16 locomotoras para apreciar. También conserva herramientas, talleres, y algunas locomotoras Alemanas y norteamericanas.

Railway museum Baquedano

Museo del Salitre Maria Elena

El museo comienzo a funcionar en los años 80 por medio de los esfuerzos de Claudio Castellón, aficionado a la Arqueología, quien comienza a recolectar objetos arqueológicos provenientes de la Aldea de Chacance, los que son resguardados y exhibidos en una modesta sala que en años siguientes dio paso a un espacio mayor, incorporando el valioso y local patrimonio salitrero. El año 2003, gracias a la gestión municipal, un equipo de especialistas en museos mejora su exhibición, dándole además una misión moderna y más acorde al emplazamiento del museo en un área de gran significación pampina y salitrera.

El Museo Geológico Chiu Chiu cuenta con unan amplia sala de exhibición, la cual incluye 200 piezas que rescatan la Paleontología de la zona y a su vez la Minería. Además hay una colección de rocas, minerales y fósiles de gran valor patrimonial, la que en su mayoría corresponde a muestras recolectadas de las faenas del mineral de El Abra y zonas aledañas.

Museo Arqueológico y Etnográfico del Loa

El museo exhibe una interesante muestra de los pueblos andinos de Calama, desde cuando eran cazadores y recolectores hasta la llegada de los españoles, reflejando su desarrollo histórico y cultural. Asimismo, cuenta con una colección de artesanía en piedra volcánica, cactus, tejidos, cerámica y cobre. Está localizado en el interior del Parque El Loa.

Archaeological and Ethnographic museum of the Loa

The museum exhibits an interesting sample of the Andean peoples of Calama, from when they were hunters and recollectors up to the arrival of the Spanish, reflecting your historical and cultural development. El museo Etnográfico de Caspana, esta ubicado en el Poblado de Caspana, cuenta con colecciones arqueológicas del sitio "Cementerio de los Abuelos", cuyas muestra hablan sobre la etnografía de los antiguos habitantes prehispánicos de esta localidad, que hasta el dia de hoy son recordados.

Museo Andrés Sabella

Este es un Museo que cuenta con una pinacoteca, iconografía y recreaciones de la casa del escritor Andrés Sabella, nacido en Antofagasta en el año 1912, quien escribió entre otras obras el libro “Norte Grande”, dando así el nombre genérico a la zona que comprende el Desierto de Atacama. Cuenta además con una consulta médica y ambientas de la casa del médico y poeta Antonio Rendic, conocido en la ciudad como el “Médico de los Pobres”, lo cual hace que todos los turistas se llenes de cultura de los poetas chilenos.

Museum Andrés Sabella

This one is a Museum that possesses(relies on) an art gallery, iconography and recreations of the house of the writer Andrés Sabella, born in Antofagasta in the year 1912, who wrote between other works the book " Big North ", giving this way the generic name to the zone that understands the Atacama Desert. Museo del Ferrocarril a Bolivia

Este es un Monumento Nacional, que data del año 1873. Esta línea férrea sirvió de conexión entre Antofagasta y Oruro, en Bolivia, para el negocio de aquellos años que era el transporte de plata y salitre. Además en este lugar se exhiben elementos ferroviarios pertenecientes a las empresas que administraban la explotación de ambos minerales; fotografías, documentos, instrumentos, mobiliario y mapas entre otros.

Museum of the Railroad to Bolivia

This one is a National Monument, which dates back of the year 1873. This ferreous line used as connection between Antofagasta and Oruro, in Bolivia, for the business of those years that was the transport of silver and saltpeter. In addition in this place there show themselves railway elements belonging to the companies that were administering the exploitation of both minerals; photographies, documents, instruments, furniture and maps between others.

Museo Mineralógico de la Universidad de Atacama

Este Museo posee una de las colecciones Mineralogicas más completas de Sudamérica, además en ella podemos encontrar una muestra de Paleontología y Petrografía, incluyendo una colección de meteoritos encontrados en el mineral de plata de Chañarcillo, explotado en el siglo XIX y que dio origen a grandes fortunas nacionales. Todo esto puede ser de agrado para quienes disfruten de las Ciencias.

Mineralogical museum of Atacama's University

This Museum possesses one of the most complete Mineralogical collections of South America, in addition in it we can find a sample of Paleontology and Petrography, including a collection of meteorites found in the mineral of Chañarcillo's silver, exploited in the 19th century and that gave origin to big national fortunes. Museo Arqueológico R. P. Gustavo Le Paige

La historia de este museo se inicia con la llegada a Chile del sacerdote jesuita R. P. Gustavo Le Paige, de origen Belga, quien en el año 1955 se radica en San Pedro de Atacama y comienza su labor pastoral. El Padre Le Paige comenzó a recorrer los cementerios y los lugares habitados por la cultura atacameña, donde comenzó a recolectar material arqueológico de incalculable valor.
En el año 1957 inaugura, en su casa parroquial el primer museo, el que contenía numerosas piezas prehispánicas y momias atacameñas.

Para el visitante, el museo arqueológico es una visita interesante y obligada, ya que le permitirá conocer los aspectos más relevantes de la historia de San Pedro de Atacama

Archaeological Museum R. P. Gustavo Le Paige

The history of this museum there begins with the arrival to Chile of the priest Jesuit R. P. Gustavo Le Paige, of Belgian origin, who in the year 1955 establishes himself in San Pedro of Atacama and begins your pastoral work. The Father Paige began to cross the cemeteries and the places lived by the culture atacameña, where it began to gather archaeological material of great value. Museo de Sitio Mina Transito

Localizado en el Valle a unos 26 Km . de Copiapó y a 11 Km . de Tierra Amarilla. Este museo fue el primer museo minero que se formo en la zona. E n el Museo se puede conocer los utensilios que usaban los antiguos mineros atacameños en la extracción de los minerales y una serie de objetos tradicionales de la minería local.

Museum of Site Mina Transito

Located in the Valley to approximately 26 km from Copiapó and to 11 km from Yellow Earth. This museum was the first mining museum that I form in the zone. And n the Museum can know the utensils that the former miners were using atacameños in the extraction of the minerals and a series of traditional objects of the local mining industry.

Museo Regional de Atacama

Esta es una casa que alberga el museo, la cual fue declarada Monumento Histórico, es de estilo neoclásico. Posee salas con retratos de personalidades de la época, fotografías, objetos de la época de la República hasta la Guerra del Pacífico. Entre sus muestras arqueológicas se encuentras valiosos testimonios de la cultura Huentelauquén y de otras culturas prehispánicas como las Molle y cultura Diaguita. Posee también una sala dedicada a la minería.

Regional Museum of this Atacama


Is a house that shelters the museum, who was declared Historical Monument, is of neoclassic style. It possesses rooms with portraits of personalities of the epoch, photography’s, objects of the epoch of the Republic up to the War of the Pacific. Between your archaeological samples you find valuable testimonies of the culture Huentelauquén and of other pre-Hispanic cultures as the Molle and culture Diaguita. It possesses also a room dedicated to the mining industry.

Museo Gabriela Mistral

Este es un museo dedicado a la vida de Gabriela Mistral, poetisa chilena, premio Nobel de Literatura en 1945. Se encuentran en la colección, manuscritos, fotografías, premios, libros y la flor de oro, premio obtenido en el concurso Juegos Florales de Santiago, en donde ganó con sus famosos “Sonetos de la Muerte”. Se muestra información general de su vida y obra, además de una réplica de la que fuera su casa natal.

This one is a museum dedicated to Gabriela Mistral's life, poetise Chilean, I reward Nobel Prize of Literature in 1945.
